Clearcoat
Here are some Ibanez JEM style guitar replacement bodies with clearcoat. We use 2-part automotive clear. Our swirl paint technique is not very flat, so several coats are needed. We sand between coats with a light grit (600) wet sandpaper. After the final coat, we use a series of wet sand steps out to 2500. The final step is a buffing wheel. The pictures capture reflections from the light from a window. The finish is like a mirror shine. Click on images to show larger image. The black and white set used HDR to really capture the details.
We charge $225 for clear. This is addition to the cost of the body.
